This murine monoclonal antibody is specific for a Paramyxovirus group antigen. It allows the detection of PIV 1, 2 and 3. Occasionally a very weak fluorescence can be observed with the Mumps virus. This fluorescence is not surprising as Mumps is a member of Paramyxovirus group. However this fluorescence cannot be disconcerted with a PIV positivity.
